Former UFC Champion Discredits Islam Makhachev’s Pound-for-Pound Status

Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos has shared his perspective on the current UFC pound-for-pound rankings. The top spot in the rankings recently shifted, with reigning 155-pound champion Islam Makhachev surpassing UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. Makhachev achieved this feat following his impressive first-round knockout victory over UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 294. On the other hand, Jones made a triumphant return to the Octagon at UFC 285, securing the heavyweight title with a quick victory over Ciryl Gane.

Rafael Dos Anjos is not satisfy with pound for pound Ranking

Dos Anjos recently expressed his discontent with the current state of the UFC pound-for-pound rankings on X

Makhachev has made two defenses of the 155-pound gold thus far, has a KO loss on his record, and is yet to defend the title against anyone actually in his division. For dos Anjos, the comparison implies Jones should still be No.1 in the pound-for-pound rankings.
