John Ryder announces retirement

John Ryder, a boxer from England, announced his retirement from boxing on Tuesday at the age of 35. He made this decision after losing two fights in a row. His record is 32 wins, 7 losses, and 18 knockouts. He lost to Jaime Munguia by TKO and to Canelo Alvarez by points. Ryder reflected on his career, mentioning his fight against Alvarez in Mexico as a highlight. Despite not winning a world title, he feels grateful for his experiences in boxing. His most memorable win was against Daniel Jacobs in 2022, but he also faced a controversial loss to Callum Smith in 2019. Ryder plans to start a new career as a coach at the Matchroom Gym.

During his most recent fight against Munguia, John Ryder, a 35-year-old British boxer, encountered significant challenges as he endured being knocked down four times throughout the match. As a result of these repeated setbacks, his corner, the team of trainers and assistants supporting him during the fight, made the decision to intervene and cease the match by throwing in the towel during the ninth round.

Concluding his tenure as a professional boxer, John Ryder amassed a record of 32 wins and 7 losses throughout his career.
